Tracey Davidson

I was born in Bluntisham on 9th May 1972 and lived for 17 1/2 years in Sayers Court.  During my time in Bluntisham I saw lots of changes.  I went to St Helen’s Primary School and had Mrs Purvis as my reception (Class 1) teacher and fell in love with gymnastics.  Unfortunately those who knew Mrs Purvis will know that she was only about 4ft 11 tall so when I grew too tall I had to give up on my gymnastic dream…..those were the days before the Huntingdon gym and other places to go.

I was fortunate to learn to swim in the village as in 1977 my dad with a digger dug a pool in our back garden.  It wasn’t very big but it was big enough to learn to swim in.  I was also fortunate enough to swim in the school pool as well.  I am now a swimming teacher and have been for over 20 years…!

When I was 17 I moved out but only to Somersham when I then had my son before moving to Ramsey, Bury and then in 2007 I was fortunate to be able to buy Sayers Court from my parents and move back into the village.  My son went to St Helens to finish his final year of primary school and joined the football team before going to Abbey College.  Personal circumstances meant that I had to sell Sayers Court in 2016 and I moved to Bramley Grove.  I was able to move a lot of my possessions via Meeting Walk!

I am the parish clerk and have been since 2014 and love the village. I also teach fitness classes in the village hall and teach children’s fitness at the school.  All in all I am a Blunty girl and love nothing more than a pint in the White Swan and sitting in my garden with my partner enjoying the sunshine.

I hope you enjoy some of my memories of Bluntisham including the carnival and school days.
