Val Henman

I have happily lived in the village with my family on the Orchard End Estate for 44 years. I taught at St Helens Primary School for 20+ years. Both my children and 2 of my grandchildren attended the school. I helped with the Brownies becoming Brown Owl in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. I am also a member of the Bluntisham Meridian Learning Experience which has weekly lectures in the autumn and winter terms. This not only keeps my brain ticking over but is a good social event too.

I felt the Bluntisham Heritage Project was an opportunity to give something back to the village. I am helping to record the history of education in the village. I am working with the school and Tracey Davidson so some of the children can research and record their own village history. I am also the link in Frogs Hall, St Mary’s Close and Megs Close for those who wish to contribute.

I have learnt a great deal that I didn’t know about the village and the people who lived and are living in it but hope to learn more.
